"VUJO & Ten.Cza"
We invite you to a performance and guided tour led by the artists VUJO & Ten.Cza as part of the finissage for the exhibition "People's State Archive".
1.04.2026

A journey through folk culture—can it exist enclosed within Warsaw's walls, in rooms filled with smog and exhaust fumes brought in by the spring wind? We will attempt to answer this question through the lens of the Chochoł—the personification of vitality or a nocturnal phantom bearing bad news. The performers will be swept up in the Straw Man’s Dance (chocholi taniec), while visitors closely follow the shifting boundary between waking reality and a chochoł-induced dream state.
VUJO A drag performer active on stage since 2018. He has organized and produced over 100 theatrical and artistic events. He hosts world-renowned drag kings in Poland during "Drag Save the King" and produces "Iluminacje"—a series of open-stage events for masculine-aligned drag. He has performed across Europe, from Porto and Munich to London. An activist for communities underrepresented in mainstream queer art, including trans individuals and those socialized as female. His shows have been staged at events such as the LiF Festival in Liverpool and the Camden People's Theatre SPRINT Festival in London. He leads performative tours through art spaces, bringing concepts to life and becoming a living exhibit.
Ten.Cza (Tea Tomaszewicz) Born on January 11, 1999, in Warsaw. Between 2018 and 2023, she studied at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She defended her Master's thesis under the supervision of Dr. Elwira Sztetner in the Artistic Fabric Studio. A transmedia artist who moves fluidly between painting, textiles, sculpture, costume, and performance. In her work, she explores image as an element that simultaneously expresses and creates a queer/non-normative identity. She actively co-creates the queer club scene through drag and burlesque performances, party set design, and event production. Her solo transmedia exhibition, "...and with my decaying body I will feed my Sisters," is currently on display at Warsaw's Galerii Ponad Podziałami.
